Hello praying family,

Thank you for praying for us and for our people group. I need to ask you to change our e-mail address in your address book to rjfleming@middleamericaregion.org  I will be asking you to change it again when (or if) we get a telephone line in our area. It is rather frustrating to have to travel to the Internet shop to get our e-mail but the Lord has been good to us and has given us patience. Thank you for making this address change. For those of you who reply to this letter Bro. Lee forwards me all of your notes.

The Lord has given us a very important contact in a municipality an hour south of here. We were dumbfounded as to how we would get the word out in this particular area but God provided us with a family who loves Him and we are hoping to train them in house churches. Please pray for the Nolasco family.

We praise the Lord for His faithfulness during an evangelistic campaign three weeks ago. A group from Indiana came and worked faithfully for 10 days with us. We witnessed door to door, distributed tracts and Gospels of John, and projected the Jesus video in five different communities. The Lord added to His kingdom and several doors were opened to bible studies. One community, that had been closed and even hostile toward the evangelicals, received us very well. Two homes were opened up to us and two more asked us to return and share more. And two Christians were discovered living in this community. Please pray for La Trinidad. Please pray for the brothers and sisters from Iglesia Bautista Jerusalen who worked along side of us to promote the gospel in the communities of Jardines de San Juan, Manantiales, and Nogales that they would have a vision to start house churches in their neighborhoods. Also please pray for the people of El Cerrito. We entered this community and were received with caution. One of the cults had bombarded this community already and the people were dubious of us. The Lord has provided two contacts in this particular community.

Also please pray for Iglesia Bautista Jerusalen and Iglesia Bautista Getsemani as they search for pastors.

Jody and I would like to thank you also for your faithful giving to the Cooperative Program, and the Lottie Moon Christmas offering. Also thank you to those of you who very faithfully give directly to missions and missionaries. With your giving we can see more missionaries appointed to service in Mexico and around the world.

Our days have been filled with visits and training. As we train our people we too are receiving training in the culture and language. Please pray for us as we serve in the Heart of Darkness in Querétaro, Mexico. Also please pray for Garry and Lori Jones who will be here in about 30 days to begin language training and then to reach the city dwellers in Querétaro City.

We are also asking you to pray for the Barrio de la Magdalena as we are trying to start a house church in this barrio. We have targeted an area of 2400 people that there is no gospel witness.

I’ll close with a short story. In a paragraph above I mentioned the Jardines of San Juan. The night that we projected the Jesus Movie in this community was a freezing night. One of the neighbors objected to our activity in their community. They did not believe we should show the movie in their neighborhood and even told us that they were speaking for the whole community. We were sure that the Lord wanted us to show the movie and there was a prolonged discussion between a Christian family in Jardines and the family that objected to our work. I thought at the time that this lady and her husband were in a dangerous position as they were deciding, for their community, who needed to hear about Jesus and who did not need to hear. We projected the movie that night as the objecting family finally relented. Three young men were saved that night at the close of the movie. But even more remarkable was what happened a half hour later. As we were drinking coffee and thawing out one of the young men who was saved, went and found two of his friends and brought them to our location and asked us to explain the Gospel to their friends so they could be saved also. Praise the Lord for His faithfulness. Had we packed up and left in the face of opposition these five would not haven been added to the kingdom that night.

See why we ask you to pray?

God Bless

Bro. Rich and Miss Jody
