Hello Faithful Pray-ers
Thank you for praying for our people group. In Querétaro we are
attempting to plant house churches that will multiply rapidly. The task is
enormous, so we are thankful for not only your prayers, but also we are
thankful to be serving a great God. Our motto is Planting, Watering, and
Harvesting in Querétaro. We have been doing a lot of planting, and a lot
of watering, but the harvest has been light. We are praying for the Lord
to multiply our efforts as there are only two of us for one million
people. Almost 99% of our people group are lost. As we look at the harvest
field we desperately need not only more workers, and more pray-ers, but
also we need a super-natural touch from the Savior before it is too late
for our people. How can a people so religious be so closed to the truth of
the gospel? The answer has to be in the blinders, or in the darkness, that
covers the beautiful eyes of our people. Please pray that our people would
begin to see the True Light.
Updating you on the community work that has been taking place.
Many of you have been praying for a community north of San Juan Del Rio
named Manantiales. In January we saturated this town with the gospel of
John and sought out people interested in attending a bible study. The Lord
provided several responses and one person opened up her home to a bible
study. This study is being taught by Antonio Gonzalez from the Jerusalen
church. Last week we entered the community to conduct a youth activity.
Again the Lord provided several contacts and three new converts to our
mission. Also we have met another family of believers within the community
who will attend our services. Please continue to pray for Manantiales.
This community is big enough to have two more house churches.
In the community of San Isidro we entered for the first time to witness
door-to-door. A dear old catholic lady really came after Jody and me for
working in her community. She was not at all happy. When I tried to talk
to her about the bible she was closed and angry. Jody also tried to appeal
to her from a ladies view-point. As I looked at her I realized that she
did not have a lot of time left on this earth, her eyes showed her age and
a hard life she had endured. She kept asking me if I understood the
scripture where Jesus cleared the temple and warned against making the
temple a den of thieves. I told he I knew the scripture well, but did not
make the connection with me telling people about Jesus, and a den of
thieves. But we are viewed with a lot of animosity. Please pray for San
Isidro and the anti-Christian stronghold that exists there.
Please pray for Garry & Lori Jones as they arrive next week to
begin language acquisition. They will be planting churches in the city of
Querétaro.
Please pray for the family and friends of Larry & Jean Elliott.
Larry and Jean had worked a long time here in Middle America. Last month
they transferred to the middle East, and this week they were killed doing
relief work in Iraq.
Thank-you for praying for Jody and me as we work in the Lord's harvest.
Thank-you for your generous giving to Southern Baptist Mission causes
across the world. And also thank-you for keeping our people group in your
prayers. We enjoy hearing from you also. You can write us directly at rjfleming@middleamericaregion.org.
¡Que Dios les Bendiga!
