prayer partners,
Thank you for your faithful prayers for team tequis and our people
group.
Last month, as I was typing, I said that I could do this job without
your prayers. Obviously I omitted an important word. The word
"not". Yes that's right, I cannot, will not, and do not want to,
try to do this job without your prayer support. We are most thankful that
the Lord has called us here, and we are blessed knowing that you pray for
us. Please post this prayer letter somewhere where you will see it often
and remember to pray for our people group. Also many of you can print this
letter and take it to your Sunday School class or prayer group and
multiply the prayer effort as more people pray.
Since the June prayer letter we have had two training sessions with
members from the Jerusalén Baptist church in San Juan del Rio. Each time
there were more than a dozen present to receive church planter training.
We have singled out one couple, Lalo & Lety, who we are training to be
trainers for our team. The reason I share this is because we need all
of you praying a lot this month!!!! Beginning on August 1st we are
entering into a new area on the south side of San Juan del Rio to open
house churches. The five communities we are focusing on have a population
of about 25,000 people. Communities: Las Aguilas, Mexico, Pedregozo, La
Paz, & La Florestia. We would like to open up 25 preaching points in
these communities. There is no evangelical work, of any kind, in any of
these areas. Volunteers out of Texas and Virginia will be assisting us in
these areas. Please pray for the residents of these areas. Pray that
direct witness and testimonies will touch the hearts of our people. Pray
that the Jesus film will be received openly.
In the community of La Fuente there are between 3500 and 4000 people
with no evangelical witness. Jody will be working with another group of
Texans from the Port Arthur area trying to find the man of peace in this
community and open house churches there also. Our desire is to have 4
different preaching points in this community. Please pray for La Fuente
and ask the Holy Spirit to prepare the hearts of the residents there. Pray
that the Jesus film will have a great impact in this area.
Also on August 1st we will have an open air service in the park in
Tequisquiapan. Please pray for Bro. Mike Due as he leads this first
service. Please pray that the community comes to listen.
August is going to be a very busy month. Please pray for Jody and me
as we work in our people group. Please also pray for Jody's parents as
they are here working with us this month. At times we get real busy
doing those things that are good, pray that we stay busy doing those
things that are BEST! Please pray that the kingdom in increased and
disciples are trained. Please pray that our stomachs are protected and we
stay focused on the task.
Many of you have responded with help on the Agua Viva project. As you
collect these free Spanish gospels of John from www.livingwater.org
we distribute them into homes of our people group. Thank you!!!!
Until next month we say thank you and God bless you. Many of you in
Southern Baptist churches have given sacrificially to the Cooperative
Program and Lottie Moon offering. Many others of you in our partner
churches have been fantastic supporters of the work God is doing in
Querétaro. There are not adequate words to express our gratitude. We know
there will be opposition to our plans for August but your faithful prayers
help to remove the barriers and keep us going daily.
