 Faithful
Prayer Partners,
Thank you for your prayers for our team this month. We are thankful and
refreshed for the work that the Lord has done in our people group.
Last month we asked you to remember in prayer our team as we worked in
about five new communities where there was no evangelical presence.
The week of August 1st we worked in the communities of Pedregozo, Las
Agulias, La Paz, and Mexico. A group from Crockett Texas and some
surrounding communities worked with us in these areas. We are thankful to
the Lord to report that there were over 200 first time professions of
saving faith in Jesus Christ. Another 60+ homes that asked for bible
studies and about another 50 homes that asked us to come back and tell
them more about the Lord so they could decide.
At the same time that this group worked with our church in San Juan del
Rio, Jody worked in an unreached community with a group from Port Arthur
Texas to present the gospel in the community called La Fuente. La Fuente
is a catholic stronghold about 20KM outside of Tequisquiapan. There are
about 10 new believers now in this area and this group also identified a
few existing Christians that we did not know about. This past week we were
visiting some of those who made decisions and others who needed to have
more information. Please pray for the people of La Fuente. Pray for a
young man named Eric who wants to study the bible with us. Also pray for
Eric's wife who is not a believer yet. Please pray for Socorro Cruz one of
the towns influential ladies who is a very strong catholic.
One week later a group from Rice, Virginia helped us in the communities
of La Floresta, La Paz, La Peña, and Residiencalies de Valle. During this
week we saw 46 people become believers. So as you can see we have much to
praise the Lord. Please pray for the people of La Paz. We have some
contacts within this town where we want to open a house church.
This past week we had a group from NW Indiana helping us with
discipleship in San Juan del Rio in four locations where we are trying to
open house churches. Please pray for Perla & Luis, Adrian &
Lolita, and Irving & Rosa as we open house churches in their homes.
Now we must begin the monumental task of follow-up. Please pray for
those who made decisions that we will be able to incorporate them into
house churches. Also I would ask you to pray for Eduardo & Lety
Patlan our newest team members. Eduardo (Lalo) will be heading up the
house church training in his municipality of San Juan Del Rio.
We would ask you to pray for Jody and me as we train those who will
train church planters in the state of Querétaro. Also please pray
for Jody's parents who worked with us this past month. While they were
here with us, their home in Florida was hit by a hurricane and received a
lot of damage.
Thank you to those of you who helped us with the Agua Viva project.
During August we distributed 1700 gospels of John.
