Praying for Querétaro
November 2004
Praying
Family,
With our November newsletter we will begin a new format to increase
your awareness of the great prayer needs facing our team.
Amealco, Querétaro. (say, a-may-al-co) The municipality
of Amealco is void of any evangelical church or Christian witness of any
kind. The majority of the 6000+ people living in this community are
catholic. (97.5%) And though there is a high concentration of Roman
Catholicism, Latin style, the community is ripe for the Jehovah Witness
and Mormon cults to thrive. We have one Christian family, Miguel and Dresa
Nolasco who live in this community. We need some of you to adopt this
community and this family as you pray. This commitment is for the
months of December and January. Please contact us and advise us if
your Sunday School group, prayer or Bible study group, or church would
adopt this task.
San Juan del Rio, Querétaro. Our efforts have been
centered in this municipality and we have several prayer requests for this
area.
Antonio and Antonio Gonzales, Church Planters in San Juan and team tequis
members,
Luis and Perla Flores, House church leaders San Juan del Rio
Lalo and Lety Patlán, Trainers and Planners for municipality of San Juan
Communities,
Las Agilas has received our testimony and we have one house there
which has opened up to us and will allow us to teach Bible studies there.
San Pedro Ahuacatlan we worked there in early September and have
made follow-up contacts there and we have one home there who welcomes us
to teach in their home.
La comunidad Mexico, There are two bible studies taking place in
this community currently. One led by Perla and Luis and another led by
Hermalinda Gonzales.
Barrio de la Cruz, One family has opened up their home to us and we
believe they will be house church leaders. Names, Adrian and Lolita Chi
La Paz, We have one contact there with whom Antonio has nurtured
and is trying to get the home to open up for a house church.
Pedregal, In this community we have several contacts and this is
where Luis and Perla's home is located. This is a very, very large area
and it needs at least 20 more house church locations.
Each of these people and locations are vital to the spreading of a house
church movement for this community. We would ask that those of you
who will pray for our six team members listed above make a six month
commitment to pray, by name, for these team members. If you
request we can send you a team photo for your prayer group. The
communities, some of which you may recognize from work done there, need
daily prayer for the months of December and January. If you, and
your prayer group can pray for the team members or the communities please
let us know.
Tequisquiapan, Querétaro. (say, take-keys-key-ă-pen)
This past week we met with Palabra de Vida (Word of Life) and they are
willing to help us in our evangelism efforts for the city of Tequisquiapan.
Currently here in Tequis there are two Methodist churches, and one
Presbyterian house church. Our efforts have been minimal within the city
as others are dedicating their time here, but we do want to open one house
church in our home.
La Fuente, Please continue to remember Eric and his family who live
in La Fuente. He is receiving a lot of problems from his in-laws for
listening to our teaching. He is moving to another home and it will be
easier for us to teach him and also we will have a home for a house
church. This community is very different as they are very, very cold and
threatening toward any evangelicals. The communities, some of which
you may recognize from work done there, need daily prayer for the months
of December and January. Please advise us if your prayer group
will be adopting this prayer need.
Missionaries needs. We are excited about Garry & Lori
Jones coming to Querétaro. They are in the last couple weeks of language
school and will be in the city of Querétaro in about 2 1/2 weeks. Please
pray for their transition from Guadalajara to Querétaro and that the Lord
brings to them people hungering for the Gospel in Querétaro. Please pray
for the bible study that Jody and I have going currently. Our Tuesday
evening team study in particular has been a great blessing to us. Please
ask the Lord to strengthen us and keep us healthy so we may continue in
His work. Finally, will you pray for Garry & Lori and Jody &
I as we minister in Queretaro?
We would love to hear from you if you can commit to pray for the items in
this newsletter. Thank you for your continued support for our team and our
Queretanos. Please print this newsletter and take it to your Sunday School
class or church group and pray for the needs.
God bless,
Bro. Rich
