I tell you, open your eyes and look at the fields! They are ripe for harvest.” John 4:35

Praying family,

Thank you for your faithful prayers for our team and our people group. We have some specific requests this month and we really need your prayers as never before. But first let me share our praises with you.

In the municipality of Huimilpan, (say wee-MILL-pan) we had a very special time of prayer walking on Saturday afternoon the 4th of June. The Iglesia Bautista Bet-él participated with us and also Iglesia Bautista Jerusalén along with our house church. Altogether there were about 50 people saturating this small town with prayer and thanksgiving. We congregated in the plaza in front of the Catholic Church and team member Antonio preached on Jesus calming the sea. I believe this was the first time the gospel has EVER been preached in this town. We plan follow-up visits weekly to this community to plant house churches.

Another great praise that we want to share with you is that Eduardo from La Paz was saved last week. On Tuesday night we went to his house to share the gospel with him and the Holy Spirit had already been there and done His work. This week we begin discipleship with Eduardo and it is our goal to have a house church started in his house soon.

The third praise that we have to share with you is in regards to the Iglesia Bautista Jerusalén. About six weeks ago we began teaching this church, on Sunday evenings, healthy church principles. There has been an enormous amount of healing that has taken place within this group of believers. We give thanks to God for what He has done with this church.

We ask you to pray specifically for two events that will be taking place between June 17th and July 2nd. There are two groups of volunteers that the Lord has sent our way and they will be working with us in several different communities.

First of all for the community La Paz here is the need: We are going to be conducting a door-to-door campaign in this community for three days next week. This is the community of our new convert, Eduardo. There are about 2000 people living in this community with no evangelical church of any kind. We hope to have three or four house church locations as a result of this campaign. A neighboring community called Santa Cruz Nieto is also part of this three day effort. Santa Cruz Nieto has been a Catholic stronghold for years. This is an older town that has no hope and is dying without Jesus. The younger families have transferred to other communities for work and the only ones left are the older people who are loyal to the Virgin Mary. We have experienced difficulty in the past trying to get anyone to open their doors. On June 13th we are prayer-walking this community and asking the Lord to tear down the strong-holds that hold the people of Santa Cruz hostage.

The second event is a discipleship ministry with a group that will be helping us in leadership training. One observation we have noted here in Querétaro is that it is not difficult in leading someone to the Lord but trying to develop them into leaders, or strong believers, is another story. Please pray for the leaders of our house church and our team as they receive training. Pray for leaders in the Iglesia Bautista Bet-él as they participate in this training also.

So in brief pray for:

  1. The community La Paz
  2. The community Santa Cruz Nieto
  3. Leadership training and continued healing of the Jerusalén church.
  4. Volunteers from Crockett, Texas, and Jeffersonville, Indiana, who will be working with us.
  5. Churches, Iglesia Bautista Bet-él and Iglesia Bautista Jerusalén.
  6. Also we ask that you pray for Jody and me as we plan a short trip to the states next month to see family we have not seen for a year.

Thank you again for your prayers. We believe the Lord is seeking and saving the lost sheep of Querétaro because His people are praying. Thank you also for your faithful giving to mission causes through your church and individual gifts also. Please print this prayer letter and have your Sunday school class pray for the needs also. We do enjoy hearing from you from time-to-time. Please write and tell us what the Lord is doing in your life or how you or your group has been praying.

Bro. Rich & Miss Jody
