Hello faithful pray-ers,
Thank you for your faithful prayers for our people group this month. In
late May we asked you to pray specifically for two projects that would
take place in the communities of La Paz and Santa Cruz Nieto. We entered
these communities with volunteers from Crockett, Texas, and worked three
consecutive days. We went door-to-door engaging every person, who was
home, with the gospel of Jesus Christ. At the end of the week we had
distributed 444 gospels of John in the community, also we presented the
Jesus film three nights in the streets for the community. I believe
there were about 150 people total for the three nights that saw the
Jesus Film. I still do not have all the report of decisions for the
week but thus far we have counted 129 people who made first time decisions
for Jesus, or want to know more about the Lord, from the door-to-door
evangelism and the Jesus Film. To each one of you who prayed for
this project we are very grateful for your prayers. And we are thankful to
the Lord for those He saved. Both of these communities had been cold
toward evangelicals prior to this project but now we have found God’s
Spirit moving in several parts of this town. We have the arduous task of
following up all these contacts now and we need your prayer for this work.
We had asked you to pray for the follow-up discipleship with Eduardo in
his home after he was saved about three weeks ago. When we went there for
the first discipleship lesson he was late getting home from work. We sat
and talked with his daughter Carmen for a while and the Lord opened a door
to witness to her. Carmen is 14 years old and is the care giver for her
two siblings as there is no mother in the home. Carmen quit school a year
or so back to care for them. When we presented the love of Jesus to her
she asked Jesus into her heart. When her father returned home we had a
discipleship lesson with the both of them. Then this past week Carmen’s 12
year old brother asked Jesus into his heart. Our Lord is fantastic! So
now please pray for Eduardo, Carmen, and Jose Eduardo.
This past week we split our efforts between two different areas. A team
from Indiana came and worked with us and taught a drama to two different
groups, one in San Juan del Rio and the other in the City of Querétaro. It
was a real joy to watch some of our young people in San Juan learn the
drama and present it before the church. In the City of Querétaro the
Indiana team taught the drama to the young adults at Bet-el Baptist Church
and this church took the drama to the streets and preformed it for
passer-bys. In the two areas where the drama was presented and a third
area where we did a Billy Graham film, we saw about 12-15 people come to
know the Lord. Please pray for the Bet-el Baptist church as they
follow-up these decisions.
In summary;
- Pray for the follow-up that our team is doing is La Paz and Santa
Cruz Nieto.
- Please pray for Eduardo, Carmen, and Jose Eduardo. We want to
start a house church in their home.
- Please pray for the new converts in the City of Querétaro.
Thank you again for your prayers and also for your gifts to our people
group. I wish I could portray to you the emptiness we see in the eyes of
our people who are lost and being held captive by a religion that is void
of Jesus’ saving grace. Please keep praying daily.
God bless,
Bro. Rich & Miss Jody
