I tell you, open your eyes and look at the fields! They are ripe for harvest.” John 4:35

April 2006

Dear Praying Family,

Thank you for praying for the “lost sheep” of Queretaro. I have several updates and requests to share with you this month.

In the house church in Aquiles Serdan we continue to see the Lord doing great things there. Last week there were 41 present in one small, small, small living room on Sunday night. I am thankful for a group of partners from Indiana who spent a week with us and helped us in this house church. We had another hair cutting clinic there this month and we were able to present the gospel to a lot of new people who have not been part of the work there. Please pray that the house church will multiply rapidly. There are seven main streets in this community and we would like to see a house church on all seven of them. Also please pray that the believers there would see a vision to carry the message they have heard to their families in other communities.

In the house church that meets in Antonio’s house. We are seeing the first multiplication off of the original group into a new group that will meet on Monday nights. Please pray for Juanalillia and Elena as they form their group and minister on their street. Please continue to pray for the original house church as it has proved to be more of a training center for new works.

Please pray for Brother Aurelio Corona. Aurelio may go to the north part of Queretaro and work under our strategy. There are still several obstacles to overcome but I am encouraged by Aurelio’s heart to consider this undertaking. The counties that would be touched by Aurelio are San Joaquin, Peñamillar, Landa de Matamores, Arroyo Seco and some others. If this does not work out we will use Aurelio in our local church planting team.

Please begin praying for a new community named Valle Dorado. We have entered this community twice and have been received real well. We are developing a plan to start a new work in Valle Dorado and we ask that you pray for two things.

  • Pray that man of peace be identified rapidly
  • Please pray that the people who live in Valle Dorado would accept ownership rapidly of the work so we can proceed to the next community.

In closing I want to share a special praise with you. Last month I asked you to pray for my father who was facing a very serious surgery on an aneurysm. I was able to take a few days and visit with my dad and also be with him in the hospital on the day of his surgery. The Lord honored your petitions and after about 10 days in the hospital my father is at home and recovering. Thank you for praying for him and my mom during this difficult time. Please continue to pray for his recovery.

And also thank you for your faithful giving to International Missions. Because of what you do in your churches, we can do what we do in Queretaro. Your prayers do make a difference and we thank you for your faithful praying. Let me share this story with you.

Flor is a young lady, twenty-something, and very confused. About two months ago I saw Flor enter into the doorway of our house church in Aquiles Serdan. One of the new believers from this group went to her and showed her that the bible we were using was the same as the bible that they had used in the Catholic Church. Also Ismael shared with Flor that we were teaching the truth directly from the bible, and not as they had been taught in Catechism class. Flor began to accept some of our teachings and you could see a transformation in her life. Three weeks ago team member Antonia shared with Flor how to be saved but Flor did not accept the Lord this night. There was a lot of confusion in her life and she was preparing to leave on a visit to one of the Catholic pilgrimages to San Juan de Los Lagos to ask for a miracle and pay her dues to the virgin of San Juan de Los Lagos. Antonia shared that it is Jesus who grants miracles and not the virgin, it was Jesus who died for her and not the virgin, yet Flor did not accept the Lord. The following week as we met for house church the Holy Spirit had prepared Flor’s heart and she accepted the Lord as her only Savior. What was the difference between the two weeks? Well a group of volunteers was here with us and they saw Antonia witnessing to Flor and when Flor did not accept they committed to pray for her until she became a Christian. Their prayers were answered in one week! Praise the Lord!

PLEASE PRAY!

God bless, we’ll write again in one month.
