April 2006
Dear Praying Family,
God bless you and thank you for your faithful prayers this month. I
want to share a few updates with you then the requests for May.
Last month we had asked you to pray for a new community named Valle
Dorado. We had entered this community and prayer walked twice and on the
second prayer walk we distributed Gospels of John. On Easter Sunday we
received a call from someone who lived in the community and found the
gospel booklet that we had left him. After reading the booklet the Lord
touched his life and he needed to know more about eternal life in Jesus.
We invited him to go to the Jerusalem church that morning and he asked
Jesus into his heart on Easter Sunday. Please continue to pray for
Valle Dorado and what the Lord will do there.
Please continue to pray for the church that meets in Aquiles
Serdan. We have seen good progress in this group and we are anxious
to start a second location in this community. We have the second house
location but the family has been away a lot with the Easter holiday and
everything else.
Please continue to pray for the church in Antonio’s house. One
new member, Juana Lilia, has been a special blessing to us and we have
seen her grow spiritually in the last two months. While we speak of this
work let me ask you to pray especially for Antonio. This week he
was diagnosed with Diabetes and is having several different health
issues. But I need to say also, in typical Antonio fashion, that he is
not discouraged at all, and in our services he just keeps asking the
Lord to allow him to continue to serve with us. But this is a very
serious health issue for Antonio so please pray. Also please pray for
Elena as she is facing difficult times.
This month we were blessed by two different groups that worked with
us in San Juan del Rio, Ezequiel Montes, and also some remote areas that
we had not worked in before. The gospel was placed in about 800-1000
homes where we had not worked previously. Also the team from Harvest
Baptist Fellowship in NW Indiana did a drama for our people in several
different areas. With the events of the week we estimate that about 50
people prayed and asked Jesus into their lives. Please pray for the
Jerusalem Baptist Church as they follow-up these new believers and those
who asked for more information and bible studies in their homes.
Please continue to pray for our IMB team serving here in the East
Bajío. Craig & Lori Clayton from Celeya, Ben & Susie Argil in San Miguel
de Allende, Garry & Lori Jones in Queretaro City and Jody and me in
rural Queretaro.
Okay I’ll close by saying thank-you for your all your support to
International Missions. Thank you for your letters and gifts that
encourage the ministry that Lord has given us in Queretaro. Many of you
were collecting the Gospels of John for us from the Pocket Testament
League. This group sends out 30 free gospels of John to you if you
request them from
www.pocketpower.org . Now they have to add a shipping charge of
$7.95 to the gospels and I do not want to be a burden, but to those of
you who can continue to get these gospels they are a HUGE blessing to
the ministry here in Queretaro. Also you can obtain Gospels of John from
www.livingwater.org
at a cost of $20/100 booklets. These are a great blessing to us also.
Please remember to ask for Spanish!
Finally please pray that the Lord of the Harvest would send
workers into His harvest field in Queretaro, Mexico.
Blessings,
Rich & Jody
