Dear Praying Family,
Thank you for your faithful prayers for the “Lost Sheep” of
Querétaro. Please don’t cease to pray for a church planting movement to
spring up within our people group. Since our last prayer letter there
have been some changes or shifts in our responsibilities. We still
oversee the church planting strategy for rural Querétaro but now we also
relate to nine other IMB families scattered across Central and Northern
Mexico. The new responsibility requires more travel and more travel
means more time away from our Mexican church planting team here in
Querétaro. So I really need you to pray for the following church
planters that they would accept all the leadership responsibilities
associated with this paradigm shift.
Antonio and Antonia Gonzalez, Sergio Jasso, and Janet Gonzalez.
There are others also who are planting in our area but do not relate
directly to our team. Please pray for Miguel Angel and his group from
Jerusalem Baptist Church as they plant New Testament churches in San
Juan del Rio. Please also pray for Moises Adame Lopez as he
plants a new church in Nogales, Colon and Viborillas, Colon. These are
two communities in Querétaro that have no evangelical witness in them.
Two weeks ago we sponsored a Church Planters School in a community
called Pamillas, in the State of Tamaulipas. This area is under the
strategy of a partner church from Arnold, Missouri. We had a great three
days with the brothers from this region as we taught them church
planting strategy. They all left excited and ready to try the new
strategies in their respective communities. Please pray for the
church planters from Ciudad del Maiz, Tula, and surrounding smaller
communities. Please pray for Jim Nicolls from Arnold as he invests
his time and energies into this precious team of church planters.
Please pray for national missionary Modesto Molina as he leads and
pastors as many as 12 small churches. Please also pray for Brother
Mateo Hernandez as he has a good vision for Ciudad del Maiz.
In early March we also traveled to the State of Sinaloa on the North
West coast of Mexico. We participated with the regional Baptist
convention in their annual week long retreat. There were good
opportunities for church planting principles to be shared and built
upon. Please pray for Mexican national missionary Marco Vallejo
as he oversees and motivates the brothers to plant churches in Sinaloa.
Also pray for a worker for this state. I am writing a job request
for an IMB family to move there and supplement the regional convention
and train leaders and church planters. Maybe the Lord will touch your
heart as you read this letter to accept this challenge. Please pray
also for Ray Maynard from Leoma, Tennessee as he has given so much
time to the brothers of Sinaloa and Ray also facilitates much of the
church planting efforts that are taking place in Sinaloa.
Okay on a family note please pray for our oldest son who has moved
to Windsor, Colorado to take a new job. They have visited a local
Southern Baptist church and we ask you to pray that he and his family
get attached to the church family that the Lord has prepared for them.
Please pray for our second son Jim and his wife Julie as they
prepare for the arrival of their new baby in less than two months.
We love you all and thank you for your faithful prayers and faithful
giving to International Missions. Please print this news letter and
share it with your Sunday school class, prayer group and bible study
group.
Your brother,
Rich
